An independent firm, by design.
Keystone Jewelry Appraisals is a single-discipline appraisal firm in Alabama. We appraise jewelry, only jewelry, and only for the person who has hired us.
Marvin L. Grier, GG, ACGA is a jewelry expert with a world-class gemological education and more than forty years in the trade. His path began at his family's jewelry store in Gadsden, Alabama, which opened in 1941. He has worked as a professional appraiser since 1991 and has held the American Gem Society's top appraisal credential for more than a decade, first as an Independent Certified Gemologist Appraiser (ICGA) and now as an Advanced Certified Gemologist Appraiser (ACGA).
Keystone's primary work is appraisal, and reports are produced with professional independence from any party to a transaction. Fees are quoted per piece or per hour, never as a percentage of value, an ethical standard required by USPAP and observed by every legitimate appraiser.
I like being part of an independent business, where I can use the skills and education I've accumulated over the years. Jewelry is an industry where trust and knowledge can make all the difference, and I'm glad to move some of that advantage from the retailers to the independent professionals. If you have questions about your jewelry, I'll be more than happy to put the answers in writing.
